The Kapalua Golf Academy, designed by PGA Touring Professional Hale Irwin, is Hawaii's most complete state-of-the-art game improvement center and practice facility.
The golf academy and 23-acre practice area provide golf instruction in all aspects of the game—putting, chipping, wedge and bunker play, specialty shots and the full swing.

Ben was selected to join the Kapalua Golf Academy in 2000 and has quickly become one of the most respected instructors in Hawaii. Hongo's awards and accolades include #1 Instructor in the state of Hawaii by Golf Digest in 2013, "Aloha Section PGA Teacher of the Year" in 2002, "One of Hawaii's Top Teachers" by Golf Digest three times (selected by his peers), and was named "Aloha Section Junior Golf Leader Award" in 2008 and 2013.
Born in Japan, Ben is conversationally fluent in Japanese and his mild manner style lends itself well to golfers of all ages and skill levels. He has been a member of the Kapalua Golf team since 1989 after relocating from Central California.
Todd O'Neal, PGA Senior Teaching Professional Todd has rejoined the Kapalua Golf team in July of 2015 as a senior teaching professional. O'Neal originally worked for Kapalua Golf as a teaching professional from 2001-2003. O'Neal is a 23 year PGA member with previous positions including Head Teaching Professional at Royal Oaks Country Club as well as most recently General Manager of Emerald Valley Golf Course in Creswell, Oregon.
O'Neal's teaching philosophy is rooted in the fundamentals - grip, stance, alignment, posture and balance with a focus on motivating and inspiring the individual to realize their fullest potential. Lastly, the short game is a main focus as it allows a person to enhance anyone's abiility to score.
O'Neal's teaching accomplishments include three time Oregon State Athletics Association (OSAA) Boy's and Girl's Golf Coach of the Year and 2010 Pacific Northwest Section and Oregon Chapter PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year, O'Neal has also qualified and played in the PGA TOUR's Hawaiian Open in 1992 and 1993.

Bradley began his career in golf with Kapalua in 1991 after relocating to Maui from San Jose, California. After earning PGA membership in 1995, Bowen was the Head Golf Professional at Maui Country Club from 1998-2004 and Kahili Golf Club from 2004-2009 before shifting his focus to instruction at Elleair Maui Golf Club.
Bowen's playing highlights include Medalist Honors at the 1997 US Open Local Qualifier in Honolulu, three times a member of the Hawaii Governor's Cup Team ('00, '03, '07) and won the 2011 Aloha Section Senior Championship. His teaching philosophy is simple - build a repeating swing through proper fundamentals, then go through a quick check list prior to each golf shot to maximize results.
